When you think of "Natural Edge", you think "Bark". But I was given a
large unusual piece of wood that presented an opportunity for a
different take on "Natural Edge Bowl".

Though not actually a turning, it could, had I had access to a large
lathe, been turned.

It's not obvious that this piece incorporates both movement AND sound,
both being quite subtle - the movement being the surface of the water
flowing gently in and out of the bowl - the sound being the water
returning from the bowl into the water in the resevoir concealed within
the piece, creating a peaceful gurgling sound. Click on the link at the
bottom of the page provided above to get to the YouTube video of this
thing.

Often, when you let go of preconceived ideas - interesting possibilities
present themselves. "Inside the Box" may contain ideas for nice
pieces. But there are a lot more possibilities "Outside the Box".
