No it does not, it indicates that the manufacturer _claims_ it

meets
class II requirements.


Yes, OK.


While much kit really does conform, IME much does not. Switchers
normally do, home stereos mostly dont.


What evidence do you have to support that?


Experience of having worked on the stuff.


If you know of non-compliant
equipment on retail sale your local Trading Standards office will be
very interested in hearing about it.


Theres lots of it, ask anyone that knows the standards and gets to
play with the stuff. Been that way for a long time now, so I'd be
rather surprised if it was news to trading standards.
