Default Kitchen Extractor hood problem

Hi,
I have fitted a new stainless steel chimney-type cooker hood in my
kitchen which has been making load rattling noises ever since it was
installed 9 months ago. The noise happens whenever there are two or more
large gas rings on at the same time and the noise sounds like there is
something loose rattling in the [centrifugal] fan. It happens on all three
speed settings, even the lowest and I have tried on several occasions to
track down the cause including dismantling the fan several times.

It appears that the unit is quite happy at all fan speeds and with all
burners on ONLY IF I DISCONNECT THE OUTLET DUCT.
It must be that the back-pressure is too high as the ducting (which is
based on approx five meters of flexible ducting
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...18232&ts=80230) with 3 sharp
bends in it's route, and the high temperature combined with the
back-pressure is causing the fan some bother (hence the noise).

It may be that I WILL need to re-route the ducting in more direct route to
the outside however this is a big job which will leave an unsightly pipe
running through our utility room. Before I consider this, I am wondering
whether it would be possible to fit an additional fan as a booster in line
with the existing ducting, which would be switched on at the same time as
the built-in centrifugal fan.

I know that some chimney-type cooker hoods have remote motors, however I
have not seen these items advertised on their own. I am not prepared to
splash out a large sum on something that may not work, but if there is a
product on the market which is for precisely my problem (long ducting) then
could someone point me in the right direction, or perhaps suggest an
alternative solution.

Thanks in advance
