Iron gas pipes in screed
If a 3/4 iron gas pipe runs in the screed it needs to be protected from
corrosion with a wrapping of Denso tape, is there any guidance on tape overlap? Are there any special requirements if a join is unavoidable? Dave |

Denso tape eventually dries out and becomes brittle, so loses its protective properties. The tape or sleeving must overlap the plaster or mortar by at least 30mm on either side to be any kind of use in these situations. Or it must have a hard plug type seal fitted to the ends to stop moisture ingress in wet areas. |

And it must be tested for gas tightness before the protection is applied. -- Ed Sirett - Property maintainer and registered gas fitter.
