Bungalow Thermal efficiency
I am in the process of completely renovating my bunglaow which will include
installation of a central Heating system including all pipe work. However before I reach that stage I am advised to make the bunglaow as thermally efficient as possible. Are there any guides and companies that can assists with carrying out a survey and reccomending steps to achieve a maximul thermal house? Faz |

Are there any guides and companies that can assists with carrying out a survey and reccomending steps to achieve a maximul thermal house? Simple really: install: - cavity wall insulation - 1 foot of Rockwool in them loft (essential in a bungalow as the ceiling is a large area). - double glazed withy low "e glass. - ensure all cracks are silicon gun sealed. - Dig around the foundations to about 1 metre deep and install Jablite foam insulation directly against the footings up to ground level. This vastly reduces thermal bridging from the ground to the building. - Install a condensing boiler (what type of system do you have in mind? Mains pressure?) - A highly insulated front door if it is to be replaced (preferably made in Sweden) Apart from the above not much else you can do in an existing building. |
