No margin for error
Just finished installing our Myson kickspace heater. It had already been positioned and plumbed and wired in with just the cosmetic work to be done, namely fitting the grill. This involves cutting out a 760mm long by 72mm slot in the kickboard for their 80D model. The front of the kickspace heater body projects through the kickboard with the grill secured to the heater by two machine screws a further two wood screws secure the whole lot to the kickboard.
With the height of the heater being 72mm the grill height is a mere 75mm giving at best a mere 1.5mm overlap top and bottom, managed it in the end but there was absolutely no margin for error. This is unlike the 600 model it replaced which had the same fixing arrangement but a much more generous overlap.
You may recall my earlier rant regards the incorrect clearance in the installation instructions for our induction hob. Well Myson went one better their instructions for the kickboard opening suggested an 80mm high slot for a 75mm grill. I got on to technical just in case I had been supplied with an incorrect grill as you can specify different colours for matching purposes, no that is the only size grill you can get. Anyway at least the lesson was learned from the hob installation.
