I stayed at a hotel in Arnside and at breakfast, the guests collected
their cereal from dispensers like that, and in addition collected
the milk that needed from a refrigerated barrel with a tap, into
1/3 pint glass milk bottles.

Why ?. what's wrong with plain old milk jugs ?.

I meant why use diddy little glass milk bottles rather than proper
milk jugs that hold enough for one persons or tables use. ?

Last night on BBC2 was episode 3 of 'House of our time' (or something)
about the history a house and its occupants since 17xx in Bristol.

One part of the program was filmed in a 'vegan cafe' where luminous
green smoothies of god knows what were served in what looked like
1 pound jam jars. Really cool, not.
