Default cable width for wiring thermostat

My Dad is installing a Danfoss RMT 240 volt room thermostat to control
a Danfoss HS3-3 point mid-position motorized valve. Would 3 core and
earth 1mm cable have sufficient current carrying capacity for this
application?

Thank you for your help.

Well as 1mm 3 core and earth is rated at 12 amps I would say yes.

Yup. The motor in the valve only takes a fraction of an amp, and 1mm is
rated at 12 amps.

Yup, it'll be more than enough. It's physical robustness is more significant
than its current-carrying capacity in this context.

Yes, but don't lose sight of the fact that - in a Y-plan system - the 3-port
valve switches the boiler and pump on in some modes, and the current for
that *also* goes through the room stat - so it's not *just* switching the
valve.

Even so, 1mm cable should be ok.

We're still talking small currents. A 5 amp fuse is fine for most systems.
