The nest stuff used to work with Alex but since goole aquired it it doesn't.
It could mean they will stop it working with other things too, like
ITTT, etc.

doesn't.

I find it hard to understand why you might want your house to go cold in
the winter. I find a programmable on absolutely fine.

Cobolt do a talking one for those who cannot see the displays without
magnification and its the same cost as the normal British Gass one according
to a friend.
If you really want the smart device interface though it seems to be an
ever changing landscape. Some say they have done what you want but in fact
have lied!
