I think wood burning stoves can be quite efficient if made properly, but
half the time its just put in by the trendy folk and those who have a ready form of wood to burn, but really, we got into the pollution mess in the first place due to the poor methods of combustion which produced smoke and sulphurous pollution. If you are as old as I am you will remember the smog's that were yellow and it was even inside the houses and any mask or filter you used, mainly scarves and handkerchiefs ended up yellow. We do not want to get back to those conditions again. Brian -- ----- - This newsgroup posting comes to you directly from... The Sofa of Brian Gaff... Blind user, so no pictures please! Maybe he has 'Copy and Paste' [1] Tourettes? ;-) Cheers, T i m [1] As opposed to the 'Cut and paste' that many people say they are using but actually aren't (eg, that is actually technically wrong, rather than just weird like the Mrs referring to a 'Brush and dustpan' rather than the correct way, 'dustpan and brush'. ;-) |

For example, some of the (very good) VAX/VMS editors did not actually support "copy" as such - only cut. However there were dedicated "insert here" and "Remove" keys right next to each other on the keyboards of most VT terminals. So it became second nature to hit remove and insert in sequence to do the "copy" (i.e. to delete the block and put it back again), then you moved to the target location for your paste operation, and hit insert again. You can do the same in many PC based editors with shift Delete & Shift Insert in sequence. -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |

No, possibly not, but generally is in context. Like I have seen it here when people have said 'Cut and paste it from the website' when they only have ordinary user rights. For example, some of the (very good) VAX/VMS editors did not actually support "copy" as such - only cut. Understood. You can do the same in many PC based editors with shift Delete & Shift Insert in sequence. Ah, more fancy keyboard incantations that I'm only likely to use by mistake. ;-) Cheers, T i m |

A few years ago they kept on talking about wet back benchers, so obviously
being a little damp could be a trend. Brian -- ----- - This newsgroup posting comes to you directly from... The Sofa of Brian Gaff... Blind user, so no pictures please! "harry" wrote in message ...
