If it is a non-50-Hz hum, test whether it ceases when mechanical damping is provided, by touching one or more of the likely parts. If so, find and fit some other vibration-absorbing material. I had good results (long ago) by slipping a piece of split foam tube (intended for thermal insulation) on a vibrating pipe. Possible alternatives ; bath sponge, old clothes, carpet, ... -- SL |
