PIE CHART OF UK GDP - UK'S EU CONTRIBUTION IS 0.5%

0.5% too much IMHO

Anyway the direct contribution is irrelevant.

Remind us what was on the side of the Leave Campaign Bus.

That we send £350m to the EU every week. True.

That maybe we could (use a little of it to ) fund the EU instead.

A reasonable slogan, given the size of the letters and the bus.

Bit not the reason I voted leave, or anyone I know.
Consider: From Gridwatch...

mysql select avg(wind) from day where timestamp like '2016%';
+------------------+
| avg(wind) |
+------------------+
| 2411.89962807553 |
+------------------+

That is metered windfarms. Lets say with the more expensive unmetered
ones charging FITS the true figure is 3GW.

At a minimum subsidy over market price of 5p a unit, and more like 10p
on average.

So every week, that's £56.7m of money transferred from the pockets of
electricity users to the likes of Dong and EON and so on, because we are
in the EU and we are therefore subject to a 'renewable obligation',
despite the fact that it is fairly well established that renewable
energy does little or nothing to abate CO2 emissions and its becoming
clear that CO2 emissions are on balance slightly beneficial to the plant
and us.

How much did you spend on CFL 'energy saving lightbulbs' because they
are EU mandated, only to have them fail after 6 months?

I have a CFL that's twenty years old.
I have several others more than five years old.

My 35 year old one has just failed. My recent ones die like flies.
