Well really. You look a a test CD with a 1khz sine wave on it, or a test
CD with a square wave on it, and compare with vinyl!

Don't make me larf Capitol.

MP3 is of course another kettle of fish.

A 1kHz sine wave on a cd would be useless. You'd have to use
square waves to see where the distortion was. As the human ear can
detect a difference in arrival time between ears of about 1uS, my
comments are valid. Wireless World testing in the 60s.

In a discussion about speakers. Very apt. Did you have the same teachers
as Turnip?

I answered your question, which was obviously badly constructed
as you didn't get the answer you were looking for!

I explained why the sound was going to be crap. If you don't
believe me, go and do some serious numerical audio distortion
measurements and look at the results. I've done so for a living so
reckon I have some real knowledge, not "It sounds OK to me"!

So there.

The thought bubble contained a spelling error (flautist *not* flutist).
Was the misspelling deliberately chosen to enhance the humour of the
situation even more by any chance?

The cable will be directional so you will have to swap the direction the
cable is installed to hear which sounds better.

He's got it all wrong. What he doesn't realise is that you need to
connect a 1.5 volt battery to the cable to flush out the tired used
electrons as any fule know!....
