Default OT Road trip - women and toilet stops

Just for fun.

A simple 175 miles drive in the morning with the gf. (J38 of M1 to J4 of M1
and then a small bit of driving on A roads)

How far[1] before she says "I need a wee"?

Closest guess to the answer wins a virtual pint.

[1] In miles as I assume the road will be clear.

I'll qualify my guess further.

0.9 miles, just joined the motorway from the slip, assumption failed as
the road ahead is stacked up with traffic and U-turns are impossible ...

Stop by the side of the road [2]

[2] Get her a crinoline dress and no knickers; Victorian style. No one
will know.

Or, a more modern solution (and assuming Adam didn't also make use of
the enforced stop somehow (fuel, coffee, the chance to buy a 1,000,000
candle power torch g) .. would be to get her a 'Shewee' and a
sealable container. ;-)

Like me. My SWMBO can go all day without a wee, whereas I drink a lot more
than her, including a large mug of coffee with my breakfast.

That's not ideal, One ought to be taking in enough fluid to produce a
decent sized wee of only pale yellow urine around every 5 hours or
so. Any thing less and yellow urine and you are getting getting
dehydrated. How much water that means consuming depends on the what
you are doing and the climate. Normal activities in our cool climate
and 2/l spread through the day is about right. But somewhere dry and
hot day and the required fluid intake rockest up, ISTR drinking 5 or
6 l / day out in 40 C desert conditions.

Oh and the "I'm thirsty" feeling kicks in quite late after
dehydration has started.

Funny, my dog seem to regulate his drinking based on thirst. Works for him.
Why do we suddenly think we know better than nature?

The advice "drink before thirsty" has probably killed more runners and
other endurance athletes than any other single piece of advice.

My daughter has been on duty at the London Marathon many times. For LAS
over hydration is as big a problem as dehydration.

I don't personally drink anything like that even in our summer.
I don't in fact drink anything at all at breakfast or during the
day either even in summer unless I am going for a long walk
for exercise. And by long walk I mean 6Km for 1.5 hours. In
that case I do have a glass of water before leaving and normally
leave early enough so I am back before its got over 25C.

I do drink 750ml of a bit better than full strength beer in the
evening, half before dinner and the other half with dinner.

But somewhere dry and hot day and the required fluid intake rockest

I never drink anything like that and we can have 10 days in a
row over 40C.

I don't do it on feeling thirsty.

None of which of course has anything to do with the fact
that you live in a corrugated iron shack you built for
yourself in the back of beyond; 50 miles away from the
nearest "town", or mains water supply.

Maybe if you watch "Crocodile Dundee", or "Ray Mears in the
Outback" a few more times, they might give you some
ideas on how you might augment your supply.

100 yards after you pass the services, assuming there isn't another
service area for 100 miles.

And it is all your fault.

Is this a trick question?

Is she far too coy to use the phrase and instead refer to the little girl's room?

Or too coarse, and will request a pish stop instead?

Or is she in the manner of demanding to stop at any roadside inn or burger van and say "I need a wee refreshment"?

Or is she agile enough to go out the car window at 60 mph?

Anyway, I'll guess 22 miles or 20 minutes after the last cup of tea, whichever is the sooner.

According to the adverts, sensitive bladder has an over the counter
treatment these days. I think I need the male version. I can walk about all
day, sit in cars all day, but lay me down on a sofa for a couple of hours,
and when I get up i need to pee. its all to do with pressure from other
organs I am told and everybodys guts dangle in different ways. Not much help
I know....

at a silly cost

if you really need it your Doc will prescribe you something for less than
half (or even less if you don't pay for yore scripts)

(but it won't actually be this because if the PP is thinking of the product
currently touted by large chain of chemists shops, then this is a herbal
remedy which has been available in Health Food shops for yonks. Only the
product name is new to the market, not the active ingredient. And this
particular herbal remedy is not available on an NHS script even if, for you,
it works and normal remedies don't!)

The virtual pint is beer (with a proper head and non of that flat stuff that
southerners drink).

However I declare the winner to be TMH. His guess "of 100 yards after you
pass the services, assuming there isn't another
service area for 100 miles" was the most incorrect answer but one closest to
the truth.

We had done about 160 miles when she said "There are some services in 6
miles can we stop there please"

She then got the good news that I was turning off at J4 and that J4 is about
5 miles before the services.
