Default Wooden guttering ??

OK I could go and buy a piece of plastic guttering but I am on a roll at
the moment as I have just rebuilt my shed relaid a back garden of 2x3
slabs and built my fence from my next door neighbours old one.(only his
posts were gone)
So I need some guttering for my shed, its only 8x5` and guttering only
required for one side so I thought why not make it out of wood thinking
fence slats last for years so why not a piece of guttering and I have an
assortment of wood lengths from my projects.
I was thinking of just routering out a channel and then shaping the
external with a planer or sander to suit and also thought about using 2
litre plastic bottles for the downpipe, with the bottoms cut off they
slot into each other quite nicely.
Cheapskate...Yes but its DIY and its fun.

Your thoughts.
