had to replace a busted tile on bay window roof ... and the lead
flashing split (ripped) when lifted.

The part I needed to lift eased it up gently - no problem, it was 2
foot away that split from free edge right up to where the vert upstand
starts. Must have been a fracture point there.
Replaced tile and folded lead back down ... all invisible ... but
obvioulsy I need to put a fix in place.

As top horizontal edge is embedded in brickwork, not easy (or neat) to
replace.

Thought is if I take a 12" wide piece of lead, and slide it in under
where it is split, that solves tehe issue, but how do I keep it there
.... don't want the plug-ugly way of lead strips wrappped over.

Thought 2 options ..

# coat the 'patch piece' with liquid bitumen, put it in place and dress
original lead down on top of it ...

Bitumen on top face of patch so it 'glues lead to lead'

# put some silcone on top face of patch to use as glue, and dress down
as above
