Default Boxing in pipes under a wall hung boiler.

The boiler is on the kitchen wall above the worktop. All of the pipes run through the worktop vertically up to the underside of the boiler and they have been boxed in and tiled to within about 9 inches of the bottom of the boiler, leaving the space around the pipes open for the odd rodent to pop up and take a look around.

What best to do fill the gap around the pipes? fill with foam and paint?
I don't want to take anything apart and do it properly, I just want the quickest neatest solution.

Thanks for any ideas.

Brendan.

9 inches is probably the access required to service the boiler, so a
removable panel of some kind would be best. Mine is tiled and held in
place by magnets.

Agreed, there's also the issue of having a gas pipe in a sealed duct,
there's meant to be some ventilation to avoid build up of gas should
there be a leak so foaming in is not best.

And if a rodent gets as far as your kitchen, it's game over

Thanks for that. Removable panel, that's what I'll do.
I spent the morning filling holes outside that a rat could get in through.
