Anyone know a site where I can get a (near) exact price for posting to
Romania without having the actual address? For an Ebay sale. Needs to
include insurance and signed for costs. The RM price finder one is down.
All the ones I've tried don't say what the insurance and recorded delivery
extras are until you actually book it.

Don't use the price finder.

Considered couriers? Sometimes they are not as expesnive as you might
expect... Most of the main ones have full online pricing and booking
facilities.

Ebay?

Romania?

Are you sure you want to do this?

From distant memory I think that compensation for non delivery on
international RM signed-for shipments ends when it leaves the UK. If
true I'd recommend an alternate carrier.

Not much point in it, then?

Indeed. However the beauty of RM to me is I can simply take the parcel to
a convenient local post office. Not have to wait in for collection or go
miles to an alternative's depot.

That's OK if it's a local Post Office and not a Post Office Local

/post-office-local

Our local one has morphed, and now won't handle cheques, bank paying-in,
many overseas parcels and most of the other things I and aged relatives
used a post office for.

I remain amazed as each new peak is achieved in the mismanagement of
this hallowed organisation.

There are many high street agents for the big (and smaller) carriers,
franchised printers and mailbox providers are usual suspects. One of our
team used them in the past but no personal experience. Same prices but
greater convenience and from memory they were agents for a few and so
were able to offer whichever carrier was better for given sizes and
weights.
