Garden lights - 'all connectors must be outdoors'
From the instructions that come with the Ring 'Select a Light' system:
"All system connectors must be sited in an outdoor location". Elsewhere it expands on this to say "Make sure to site all the system connectors in an outdoor location (including the first one)". This system is basically a mains to 12V AC transformer, 2-core figure-8 cable and 12V lights. The connectors referred to are choc-block in a small splash-proof plastic box. One is used to connect each light as a spur off the main cable run. An example of the transformer is he http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.js...condid=9261597 A short (approx 1m) length of the 2-core cable is supplied hard wired into the transformer. It's connected to the rest of the cable using one of the choc-blocs. So - why must this first connector be sited outdoors? Any ideas? Dave |
