Default Focus Closing Down Sale

Well it started today in Barnsley. I have just fetched a new bathroom
for the gf's parents. 30% off. Other stores may have also already
started so keep your eyes out for a bargain.

Is that a good price though?
I've been in a few times, they were ridiculously overpriced for many
things ( a single fused connector -£7.59) , although there were some
nice kitchen sinks reduced from £300 to £127 2 weeks ago.

Dunno.

Have a look at their new web site

http://everythingmustbesold.com/

Under £300 for a full bathroom suite and an electric shower. The
shower was £150 2 weeks ago.

Point taken. But it is the bathroom suite that they were looking at a
few months ago.

You are right. It is/was an expensive hole. Our local one (Malvern)
is being taken over by B&Q.
I could go to the local hardware store and get most stuff cheaper. It
is right opposite. When Focus arrived he reckoned it was the best
thing ever happened to him.

I went into Newport and the No Frills DIY clearance shed.

Not a sausage in there. Stock levels were more or less the same as
Christmas (i.e. half the shed is walled off and empty) but instead of
being Focus stock (OK, but originally stupidly over-priced) it was now
all Payless stock (nasty rubbish, at any price). Discounts were 20% &
30% off, which isn't enough to bring this stock down to a sensible
price, let alone a bargain.

I only spent about a fiver, and that was for something that would have
been .cheaper in Screwfix, but it saved me a further trip.

The best "bargains" I could see was 20% off, but discount cards can no
longer be used, so a miserable 10% discount.
