Electricity and gas suppliers
I decided it was about time I reviewed my electricity and gas suppliers,
and have spent many blissful hours browsing comparison sites like moneymarket.com, energyhelpline.com etc. For my circumstances, the front runners are Scottish Power, Sainsbury's, nPower and e.on, where the potential savings look as if it will be worthwhile switching from my current supplier. However, when I look at the customer reviews for the front runners, I am appalled at the way they seem to treat their customers. There are many complaints about rude, arrogant, incompetent, indifferent staff. DD amounts arbitrarily increased by large amounts without justification. Refusal to reduce DDs when account balances were well in credit. Changing customers to different (worse) plans without notice. The list goes on. Now, I appreciate that there are probably many other customers who are quite satisfied and haven't bothered to supply a review, so I am probably seeing a one-sided picture. (And quite by fluke, my current supplier -- Atlantic-- has the fewest customer complaints of all suppliers). So, my question is: what are the experiences of you good people here with Scottish Power, Sainsbury's, nPower and e.on? Are they really as bad as they seem? -- Ian |
