Default Curtain linings - width

If curtain span is 60", curtain width 109", will 90" wide curtain
linings do?

I ask because the existing linings are 109" wide - rather a lot less
than readymade 90", but for a 60" span a 90" lining still gives
30" (50%) to go into the pleats even when fully drawn.
