Default Strange fitting size

Hi all

i have a hot water tank with an unusual male thread, i measured it at 32mm
OD with 14 threads per inch. A one inch plumbing fitting will screw on for
2 threads then it jams as its thread is too course.

Any ideas?

Steve

Could it be 7/8" BSP? 14 threads/inch and 30.2mm OD. maybe it's a
tapered thread and you measured 32mm at the thick bit ?

Could be a M32 x 2 which is 12.7 TPI.

Metric diameter/imperial pitch.

Odd! to say the least.

32mm also is 1 1/4 inch, maybe its an American size?
