Kitchen tap recommendation
Anyone care to recommend a single lever, monobloc kitchen tap.
Preferably brushed steel or chrome and preferably not needing a second mortgage to pay for it! TIA -- F |

TIA The late Andy Hall recommended I check out Hansgrohe for a monobloc tap for a downstairs toilet. These are top quality items IMHO. So I got the web price and went to a local showroom - managed to get the one I wanted for about £70. Plumb Centre et al wanted £100+ for much shoddier stuff. The Hansgrohe web site does take a bit of wading through but it contains dimensioned drawings and all sorts so well worth it. I'd be surprised if you didn't find something good there. HTH Phil |

I think this comes down to personal choice, there's so many different
styles to choose from. Try http://www.taps4less.com/index.html. I've used them a couple of times with no problems and they seem to be amongst the best in terms of value. |

HTH Phil We got a Hansgrohe tap for our kitchen after having two very cheap taps, went to local plumbing merchant and asked what was the best tap they had and they recommended a Hansgrohe. We've had it for a year now without problems but it is too early to say if it is reliable. It does seem very solid though. |

I've fitted 6 or so kitchen taps from Screwfix in the last year, from £27 up to £60. All have been excellent, far better than I expected at the price. The bathroom taps from Argos that I fitted this week are not so good, so I would avoid them. Alan. -- To reply by e-mail, change the ' + ' to 'plus'. |
