Laser
A laser is a device that emits light (electromagnetic radiation)
through a process called stimulated emission. The term "laser" is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.Laser light is usually spatially coherent, which means that the light either is emitted in a narrow, low-divergence beam, or can be converted into one with the help of optical components such as lenses. Typically, lasers are thought of as emitting light with a narrow wavelength spectrum ("monochromatic" light). http://electronicstopics.blogspot.co.../10/laser.html |

Continuing this theme of helpful facts and definitions: Arsehole: Arse, from Old English ærs "tail, rump," from Proto-Germanic root arsoz (cf. Old Norse ars, Middle Dutch ærs), which meaning ass (see also: arsehole), and by extension the crease between the buttocks of any animal (see also:buttcrack), but especially the human bottom. There are many cognates such as German Arsch, Dutch aars (meaning anus), Scots airse, Swedish arsle or arsel bottom (from earlier ars-hål anus) and Norwegian and Icelandic rass (through metathesis). Greek orros "tail, rump, base of the spine," Hittite arrash, Old Irish err "tail" has been connected with it. Arse or ass, in this sense, has no etymological common root with the word "ass" when it refers to the donkey. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arse-hole |
