Default Terminating SWG cable

I am installing a 3 core armoured cable. (Line-Neutral and Earth).

What happens to the armoured sheath, does it have to be earthed as well.

Yes.
This is done by clamping the strands in an SWA cable gland.
Note there are two types -- waterproof and non-waterproof glands
(although they both look waterproof at an initial glance).

What is your type of supply - T.T., T.N-S or TN-C-S?
The SWA is bonded to earth, whether or not it is insulated at the remote
end; and whether your third core is used as a means of earthing depends on
the type of supply. The main supplier's earth if P.M.E., should not be
exported to another building.

Regards

Which it is every time you use an extention reel.
Funny these rules. ;-)
