Because uk.d-i-y *ISN'T* a google group, it *IS* a usenet group, what you are using is a web interface to the real thing, which makes life worse for you, and often for those using a proper news client too. There are numberous proper usenet clients http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_news_clients |

I don't see any spam. But then, I don't use spam infested googlegroups. Plenty of free newsreaders around, with decent filtering facilities. Interesting that one of the few of your posts to be available on Google (for archive access only) was in a thread started by spam. -- Rod Hypothyroidism is a seriously debilitating condition with an insidious onset. Google provides a web interface to usenet for the clueless and stupid. As a result the posts from those using Google tend to be a complete waste of time, made by those who can't be bothered to format their replies or even to snip material such as signatures from the post that they are replying to. Fortunately all such posts are easily identified as originating from Google and one can set up a kill-file to delete them unread which makes the place a bit neater. |
