Where to buy clip nuts in the UK?
I'm after a quantity (say) 100 of clip nuts. These are for a 19 inch
rack, but the kind with punched holes rather than the square ones that take the usual cage nuts. It's a clip with an attached nut - a bit like a beefed up speed nut, but it takes a proper screw (bolt) rather than a self tapper. Here's an image: http://www.rackmountsolutions.net/images/clipnut.JPG I can't find anyone in the UK that sells them to the public right now. I'm after 10-32 or M5 - I don't really care. Anyone know, please? -- The information contained in this post is copyright the poster, and specifically may not be published in, or used by http://www.diybanter.com |

Anyone know, please? http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/s...21NP25&x=0&y=0 Just noticed that they're quite a lot more expensive than the US ones (to be expected) and then some (to be expected, it *is* RS). And there's a lead time...and a £10 handling charge for 'extended range'. So if anyone knows of anywhere else... -- The information contained in this post is copyright the poster, and specifically may not be published in, or used by http://www.diybanter.com |

I'll contact them too. They are weird; they're used on some HP equipment, and are much more common in the USA where round hole punched racks are more common. In my case it's for an old DEC rack, to hold an old DEC machine! -- The information contained in this post is copyright the poster, and specifically may not be published in, or used by http://www.diybanter.com |

I've not come across those before - what's the application? US-style 19 inch rack, which has punched holes rather than square ones. Here's an example (not mine) but you can see the nuts near the bottom: http://world.std.com/~mbg/move_step2.jpg -- The information contained in this post is copyright the poster, and specifically may not be published in, or used by http://www.diybanter.com |
