You can buy repair kits. Never used one, but worth a try I guess.

Ripping it up will be very physically demanding. Better to use tools.

Like the Irishman said you don't want to start from here. You can only
really camouflage the problem. They are hard, coloured two pack fillers,
make your own conclusions.
