fireproof glass for burners please
fireproof glass for burners please
i have several old woodburners and coalburners which used to have glass fronts, some are broken, some replaced with metal.. where and how can i renew them so that i can see the flames? what see though fireproof materials are there, and how can i cut them? thanks george |

An alternative is the traditional mica sheet. http://www.stovefinders.com/p-mica-index.html This may not be of use in your fire though as it is not structural in any way, unlike pyrex glass. |

I managed to get replacements for my stove by making a paper template and taking to the local glass
supplier (Truro Glass). They cut a replacement from stove glass complete with lead around the edges for a neat fit and it wasn't that expensive.
