be charged for a day anyway as plasterer is unlikely to be able
to do another job the same day to make up.

I had a go once but did a terrible job, so we had a "handy man" come
and do it properly. Even so, there were still a few rough patches that
had to be polyfillered after. Was he out of practice or do even the
pros leave a finish that needs touching-up after?

I saw in Sarah Beanys book that where a job was less than half a day
find more work to fill their time if you're paying for it.
(I peeked in the bookshop cos its a bit dear)
