Hi folks,
Anyone know the *real* difference between the new Xcel range of tools and the older PST range? Going on about my cordless jigsaw in an earlier thread reminded me of when I was looking for a corded replacement, and the local shed had the PST650 for summat like 40 quid, along with a PST650E (same jigsaw but with added pendulum action) which they said was out of stock and they weren't getting any more in. Also on display was the new Xcel, which had exactly the same features as the cordless one I had (pendulum, rubbery bit on the handle etc) but was 70 quid and only had a 600W motor instead of the 650W one in the PST650. I then discovered another shed was flogging off its last stocks of Rotozips (with the angle attachment) for half price, so I hoiked off up there to get one 'cos the missus thought it would be fab for cutting ceramic tiles (it is!) and discovered they were selling the Bosch PST850E for v.cheap - end of range. Thing is, it *looks* and feels identical to the new Xcel, so why should the new one be vastly more expensive? cheers witchy/binarydinosaurs |
