Default Removing wallpaper to plaster -(skim) - query on remnant glue

Hi,

I have started to remove wallpaper from much of the house that has had
many coats of paint of the years - it's a very slow process and a real
pain! Some walls have that wood chip style paper over it.

Thing is, although there are small scattered sections of plaster
(white) most of the walls that have been cleared have what I guess is
remaining wallpaper glue or staining, but mostly some small blotchy
patches (brown colouring) all over the walls.

Is is ok to pva over the whole lot and skim - or do you have to get
all the brown stuff off or seal it in some way?

Wouldn;t think you need to PVA actually. If you are skimming, just skim
and leave..any nasty stains will appear within a few days, and you can
stabilise those with something like PVA if you like.
