Default Problem seating a monobloc tap in a bathroom basin

Seasons greetings.

I'm putting in a new bathroom (ceramic) basin with a monobloc tap.

The tap has a flange with O-ring at the bottom, to form a seal with the
basin. Unfortunately the hole in the basin has a curved edge which
prevents the tap from seating properly (i.e. the top of the hole is more
funnel-shaped, than a cylinder).

Any suggestions on how to get round this gratefully received.

Cheers,

Steve

Make it a cylinder with body filler keeping within the diameter of the
tap so it does not show?
