Standard internal door widths (panel)
Hello,
Can anyone tell me what sizes internal panelled doors tend to come in? The door is of a standard height (I think - around 6 foot 6 inches) but the width of this door is 24 inches. In the past I have cut a panelled door down to a pretty slim size and it looked a bit odd (to my eyes - wife thought it was ok). Thanks, Rich. |

I put a 27" bathroom door on so it wouldn't open so far into the room. Looks a bit slim. I would think less than 27" would be rather narrow, especially if you have broad shoulders. Having said that, there's a bodybuilder at the gym that has to turn sideways to get through a normal sized door ! Simon. Disability regulations have meant that IIRC its 800mm or so minimum these days for a 'new build'... |

Check out a specialist door supplier. For example http://www.onestop-doorcentre.co.uk/int_pine.htm has 78x24 as a standard size -- Tony Bryer SDA UK 'Software to build on' http://www.sda.co.uk |
