Default Electrical lead query

I have replaced my Qualcast hedgecutter with a Bosch model, almost identical
but the lead is much shorter. To swap the leads would entail splitting the
casing and I seem to have memories of springs leaping everywhere in the
past, so don't want to do this. What would be the best way of joining old
lead and new one. Would this involve too much of a voltage drop? Using an
extension doesn't appeal either.

regards

SOlder or crimping with suitable strain relief.

The practical way would be to cut the old lead off the Qualcast and fit
a trailing socket into which you plug the Bosch.

No.

The message

There's a technical name for such pieces. "Ping****it".

I'd just use an inline connector as suggested elsewhere.

Well, actually I'd take it apart and put in a longer cable, but that's
'cos I sneer at ping****its.
