Carbon Monoxide poisoning ?
http://www.bwea.com/ref/lowfrequencynoise.html is a good
introduction to the rebuttals. "...from current designs of wind turbines..." Glad you have read it. Do you have a point to make about it? Perhaps those affected were from earlier generations of blade design. |

That's low frequency sound, nothing to do with electrics. Similar effects are now thought to be behind some "ghost" stories with low frequency sound giving rise to feelings of fear or dread. Once you get below about 16Hz there are some quite pronounced psychoacoustic effects. In fact some of the huge pipe organs can generate sounds down in the infrasonic region. When used, these add a sense of drama to a performance and in many cases cause the listener to feel "unsettled". -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |

I remember reading an article in the Beezer or TV21 (can't remember) when I was a kid, about how sound waves at 5Hz could kill you .... right next to the X-Ray Specs and the seebackroscope IIRC -- geoff |

Carbon Monoxide poisoning ?
The message
from Andy Hall contains these words: There were concerns after the TV Centre in Shepherd's Bush was built that wind blowing across the top of its doughnut shape would cause issues like this. There was an article in New Scientist a couple of weeks ago about a building near the Coronation Street sets which is causing trouble for the sound engineers 'cos of the howling it makes. -- Skipweasel Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. |
