Default Kitchen mixer taps

Hi.

I purchased this mixer taps on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=5990851416

Will I need to fit a non-return valve ?

I'm hoping all modern mixer taps have a non-return feature built in.

Thanks.

Arthur.

umm so you paid 20+10=30gbp?

looks reasonably fully priced to me.

shame the seller doesn't include customer service in the deal. I'd
have expected more for that price.

have you tried ringing him and asking how to fit them?

FWIIW normal UK mixer taps (at least under the old water by-laws- may
be different now with EU rules) had to have 2 completely separate paths
from the incoming H & C pipes to the outlet nozzle. Just look into the
nozzle & you should see 2 separate outlets. If not panic, & make a
dash for Dungeness before the seller swims to France.

Unless you're fitting them in such a way or position that water could
back siphon or reverse flow into the supply, there's no need for a
non-return valve. Typical place you need a non-return valve is on
outside taps because a hosepipe is often connected. Another is where
a shower hose or spray head can fall under bath water (into the water
in a shower tray) because contaminated water could be sucked back. [all
water is regarded as contaminated the moment it leaves a tap.]
