Default Kenwood KDC-X492 car stereo panel AUX input only 1 channel

I pick up this unit used. Testing shows everything working fine except 1 channel
of the (removable) front panel AUX input. I don't know if this problem would be
in the front panel module or the main radio. I'd like to fix it, or figure out a
way to use the back panel 12 pin "DIN" connector for an aux input. Anyone have
any ideas?
