My Abene came home!!
The guy who has been storing my Abene mill just left, after bringing my
(now a bit rusty in places) Abene mill that I nearly lost in the Gossco rat**** in April. VBG Now all I got to do is take the Larios horzontal, the 618 surface grinder, the KO Lee B300 and two work benches back out of the shop, after moving the Victor copy of the DV-59 (anyone want to buy it?) out of the path, setting it, leveling it up, wiring it to the rotary converter, then moving everything else back into the shop. G hummm...er....ah...****...sigh..thats a lot of work, isnt it....damnit...nap time......zzzzzzzzzzzzz One could not be a successful Leftwinger without realizing that, in contrast to the popular conception supported by newspapers and mothers of Leftwingers, a goodly number of Leftwingers are not only narrow-minded and dull, but also just stupid. Gunner Asch Been playing that game all day. At one point I was LOL saying where is a video camera when you need one. I had the swiveling crane lifting 1/3 of the weight of the planer, a wench attached to the back of one vehicle and then to the planer, another vehicle up to the back of the first vehicle to power the wench, and overloading both while the machine vibrated slowly across the shop. Moved it solo though. Before all of this the first vehicle was in the shop for 5 days jacked up 18" to hunt down a profound electrical short. A heat diffuser rusted off the exhaust manifold and dropped down into the frame components and then sawed into the main power for the alternator. Got a new toy and need to back a large trailer into the shop, not sure how it is gonna be lifted, not from the hoist I have now. SW |

I'd consider coming back down and swap some stuff for helping out. Oh, say, sometime mid-fall when lead wheel weights stop melting off the rims.BG And yeah, I'm aware it was due to get 4-5 degrees hotter a couple days after I was there... Jon |

Jon G Jon, you are more than welcome here any time of the year. Seriously and without a condition. If you happen to scoop up some wheelweights on your way back down...I can always use them. Bullet casting isnt a lot of fun this time of the year..chuckle. Its not a lot of fun in mid winter either..but..its much much better....chuckle. It did get a bit hotter..about 10 degrees for a couple days and then cooled off to 98-99F. Its only 99F right now at 1:30 in the afternoon, according to the thermometer out on the front porch. The one 10' back in the shade...shrug. My Abene is still sitting out in front of the house on the street. Im not terribly concerned about it being stolen...my 4000 lb forklift moved it..but under a bit of protest. Not a lot of sneak thieves around here that can move that much metal. But..Ive got to get everything started and get it in, before the cops give me a ticket. Well..they actually wont...they all know me too well..but its the idea....shrug...lol After I posted that yesterday..I went and took an hours nap..and woke up 5 hours later. The dogs and cats had decided I was snuggle comfy and I woke up covered with 4 dogs and 3 cats. So after unpiling them..I went back outside and did some Stuff in the shop for a few hours. Then went back to bed..digging in under the dogs and cats, who had apparently never left the bed. I woke up at 12:30 this afternoon and feel pretty damned good. So Id better figure out what Im going to do with that mill and start on getting it done. Im starting to think..maybe..somewhat..a tiny bit..that Ive got too many machines in my shop. But only a wee amount. Sigh....yawn....
