Default Looking for right angle bevel gear box please...

I am looking for a USA or Canadian source for miniature or smaller
bevel gearboxes (steel gears) with a ratio of 1:1. The gearbox should
only be about 1.5 to 2 inches (L X W) and 1 inch in height. Only found
places in the UK like this :

http://www.mfacomodrills.com/gearbox...l_gearbox.html

Any ideas?

Boston Gear makes a family of small bevel gearboxes.

A few other mfrs worth checking, though they may not have anything as
small as what you're looking for.

Hey netrate,

Before I go hunting in the backshop, how many do you need, and when
and where? Ones I'm thinking of are probably closer to cube shapes,
in my mind about 2" X 2" X 2", medical grade stuff.

Browning Power transmission used to put out a great catalogue with all
kinds of right angle and speed reducing gear boxes. Last catalogue I
got was ten years ago so they may no longer be around.

I would need 1 for the prototype, and maybe 30+ after that if my idea
works. 2X2X2 is not as small as I would like, but might work for my
purpose. Until I get it. Please keep me posted.

Hey David,

Assuming that this (above) was a reply to me, the one(s) I have are
used in a paired combination , and too tough to attempt a description
of what I mean. I have two pairs only, so a total of four right-angle
drives. If I find them (I've had the flu the last few days), I'll
take a photo or two and you decide.

Take care.
