Wierd deep cycle battery issue....

If the interconnection between the cells goes bad it can get very flaky, With the charger on, it will go to over-voltage when the connection opens, and then go back to charging the string of cells, with maybe 2 that are shorted, giving you your 9 volts. Watch out, when batteries are in this state they can explode. Don't ask how I know THAT little bit, let's just say it had to be the loudest noise I've ever heard indoors. (You get this fizzing discharge around the bad interconnect, it gets hot, electrolysis fills the battery with H2 and O2, and then BOOM!) Jon In other words, junk? |
