Second Amendment to be repealed by 2040, most guns confiscated by2070
Let me first say that I like guns, have a few, and believe in the
meaning of the Second Amendment. I used to be a member of the NRA, until I was repulsed by its political dishonesty. That said, my long term thinking on the future oft he Second Amendment and what it protects, is bleak. The reason is not what the current administration is going to do in the aftermath of the latest events, but on what happens to gun ownership. The number of guns is not going down, but the number of gun owners will go down for a few reasons. One is that young people do not get nearly as much exposure to their parents guns, so they are not as interested. Another is that there is fewer and fewer gun ranges. There are many more alternative ways to have fun that did not exist 40 years ago. At some point the interest in guns will wane. Even now, "gun advocates" are, mostly, at least middle aged. So, people will lose interest in guns, gun ownership will concentrate, and then finally the "gun lobby" will not be as numerous. The guns wil be seen as menace by more people and liked by fewer people. So, eventually the Second Amendment will be repealed and a few decades later, not much gun ownership will remain or be permitted. i |

And that's when they start placing zippers on the back of our pants.... Proly will happen way before your timeline, as well. Prescriptions for Rx drugs, otoh, will skyrocket. The New Social Control. Along with video games, holographic Facebook, and all the narcissistic rest. Overall an odd abdication of responsibility, fueled by technology. Who'da thunk?? -- EA i |

The use of paint ball guns and airsoft guns is ever increasing amount young people. And many of them look and act just like real guns. Just not quite as much power. Paul |

The only Right not under serious attack is Amendment III, prohibiting the quartering of troops in private houses. I think the Fourth, searches and seizures, will fall before the Second. Freedom of Speech already doesn't apply to many groups deemed evil, mostly corporations. http://2008election.procon.org/view....esourceID=1666 |

The Constitution is being abridged - and that is in violation of the
Constitution itself. I suggest all re-read it and only the Supreme Architect of the Universe can change it by the rules within. Not Congress, Court, Executive branch. Simple as that. More and more of the young are buying guns. We have more guns ..new guns in new peoples hands today..than at any time in our history. So, people will lose interest in guns, gun ownership will concentrate, and then finally the "gun lobby" will not be as numerous. Those that dont flee the carnage before being murdered. Shrug Gunner The methodology of the left has always been: 1. Lie 2. Repeat the lie as many times as possible 3. Have as many people repeat the lie as often as possible 4. Eventually, the uninformed believe the lie 5. The lie will then be made into some form oflaw 6. Then everyone must conform to the lie |
