![]() Care is already rationed...by your income level. Meanwhile all the Republicans I know love Obamacare and do not want it changed. TMT The system of allocation driven by who can pay for something has proven to work much better than allocation by status with a socialist government. In the Soviet Union, the man worked all day to earn money while the woman stood in line all day to try to buy goods. |

The direction of legislation seems to depend on which lobbyists can buy the most. But fortunately for Gunner and others who can't afford health care, we don't "allocate" human lives based on how much money is in one's pocket. Otherwise, he'd be long dead. We do better in health care with a fair dose of redistribution. In the Soviet Union, the man worked all day to earn money while the woman stood in line all day to try to buy goods. Now, in Russia, it's a free market -- if you're wealthy, you can buy almost anyone. -- Ed Huntress |

Ed, you can still find your utopia in N. Korea, where the gov make life fair, and you can escape all this prosperous inequity that troubles you. |

So, you want to live under an aristocracy of wealthy puppeteers because you resent providing health care for the old and poor. That tells us a lot, Clark. Greed is Good, eh? Ed, you can still find your utopia in N. Korea, where the gov make life fair, and you can escape all this prosperous inequity that troubles you. What makes you think that prosperity troubles me? The difference between us is this: I want everyone to have a chance at prosperity, and not to have to fear taking enterprising risks because of the threat of losing their homes or their families' health. You want the rich to run roughshod over everyone in the name of mindless ideology. I believe in Darwinian evolution. You believe in Social Darwinism, and would rather buy a gas mask to hide the smell of dead bodies in the street than give them a helping hand. Right? -- Ed Huntress |

In the Soviet Union, the man worked all day to earn money while the woman stood in line all day to try to buy goods. I thought the men worked half a day and then got drunk, the women stood in line half a day until the store ran out and closed. Even German POWs reported having to work only half a day, like their guards. |
