The system of allocation driven by who can pay for something has proven to work much better than allocation by status with a socialist government.

Yes, it works especially well for lobbyists. The direction of
legislation seems to depend on which lobbyists can buy the most.

But fortunately for Gunner and others who can't afford health care, we
don't "allocate" human lives based on how much money is in one's
pocket. Otherwise, he'd be long dead.

We do better in health care with a fair dose of redistribution.


In the Soviet Union, the man worked all day to earn money while the woman stood in line all day to try to buy goods.

Now, in Russia, it's a free market -- if you're wealthy, you can buy
almost anyone.
