Default OT - The Tea Party Downgrade..and how the GOP just cost YOU andYOUR CHILDREN a pile of money

Duh. Without the recession we would be in a different financial
position. Duh again.

So it's not the spending that is the problem. It's the other things. End
those wars and let the tax cuts expire, and get the economy growing
again and all of a sudden we're not in trouble at all.

Actually we still would be in trouble. We were in trouble before the
recession.
Now without all those things, we might have kept on spending too much
for a longer time, but it would still catch up with us.

But once again what we really have is the hidden motive of the
republicans, which is to put an end to the New Deal entitlement
programs.

It is really wonderful how you can plummet the minds of Republicans
and know what their motives are. In a similar way one can say the
hidden motive of the Democrats is to create a socialistic state.

I saw a chart on TV a while back that showed our debt and it showed
graphically exactly how much of the debt came from the wars and how much
came from the recession. If you removed those two items it made the debt
look small. Look at the numbers for yourself of what the wars cost, how
much the recession cost, and how much the drug part of medicare cost, oh
yeah and the tax cuts and we're not even in trouble. That's what the
chart showed. So if you change those things we hardly even have to cut
spending at all.

Haven't you noticed how many people of the right constantly say
Democrats are trying to make America socialist? I hear that every day
from some right winger. I believe that's false though. Democrats just
want more governmental interaction in their lives than conservatives do.

As for how I can understand the minds of republicans that's easy. They
have been singing from the same page for 100 years. Did you not see the
link to You tube I put up that had the head of the NY stock exchange in
1935 saying that if FDR put in the SEC it would destroy capitalism?

I read a statement from the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in
1920 and it was identical to what you hear today. What they wanted in
the 1920s is the same as they want today. Pat Toomey, senator from
Pennsylvania said yesterday that regulation was killing the economy.
They said the same thing in the 20s.

From the day FDR proposed social security and from the day LBJ proposed
Medicare the republican party has fought tooth and nail to stop those
programs. The Ryan budget plan would have ended Medicare. So you can't
tell me that the right wing isn't out to get rid of or at least
drastically reduce the money the government spends on social safety
programs. They have been consistent in their opposition to them from day
one. By the way, on that first day they called it socialism too. So what
they are doing is not new. That's how I can plumb the minds of the
republicans. They have a 100 year track record of their intentions and
it's never changed.

Well 150 years ago their intentions were to free the slaves. But they
accomplished that. Then during Eisenhower term it was integrate the
schools.

If your children are internet users, set them up on an online auctionsite to bid on the clothes that they want within a pre-set budget.
