You need a kid to haul it for you - pix of how to make one are also on
the 'net.

All of which is nitpicking. SoCal gets a lot of press for being
moments away from The Big One which will cut water distribution and
make everybody die of thirst. But they are not alone. The Power
goes out, even soggy Seattle will have troubles getting drinking water
to everyone.

Wouldn't it be cheaper for the gov't to run a pipeline from the Miss.
River to CA and create a bigass reservoir in the desert, then pump the
overflow to other rivers and the reservoir when she gets grumpy every
year?

I know the Gulf of California would benefit. I guess the farmers all
along the Colorado could benefit, in NV, CA, AZ, and Mexico.

Then there wouldn't be all that flooding of perfectly good farmland
and perfectly improperly placed cities along the Miss.

Think of all the unemployment that would solve, too.

Speaking of which, this just in via email:
(I think I posted this to the Wreck yesterday, but not here.)

I was eating lunch on the 20th of February with my 10-year-old
granddaughter and I asked her, "What day is tomorrow?"

She said "It's President's Day!"

She is a smart kid.

I asked "What does President's Day mean?"
I was waiting for something about Washington or Lincoln ... etc.

She replied, "President's Day is when President Obama steps out
of the White House, and if he sees his shadow we have one more year of
unemployment."

You know, it hurts when hot coffee spurts out your nose...
