Won't get Aus - not without over running Indonesia first - those poor

Funny getting first big news from Usenet over the years.

Check out the pictures on HL Times. This one is cool, was way more
than exactly what I've been looking for this morning.

A few boats banged up on the California central
coast. Major evacuations in the Humboldt area with
little or no damage. More boats banged up at
Crescent City.

I wonder how Kwajalein took it -
Being 6' above mean sea level - it is shaky on some waves.

I was there in 64 when the Good Friday swept down on us
from Alaska.

I'll continue to poke around the net for news.

Most small islands are not in much danger. As a Tsunami travels across
the open ocean it doesn't have much height. A small boat will hardly
notice the rise and fall. A small island is not much different. But when
the wave reaches a large land mass or continental shelf the wave height
and danger increase.

Does the contour of the ocean floor affect the wave height?

Uh, yeah:

Hope This Helps!
