Default FS -- Canedy Oddo drill press, big and old one, Chicagoland

http://igor.chudov.com/misc/ebay/tmp/Cary/234-1-3.jpg

It does NOT include the tapping head shown on pictures. I will keep
the tapping head (it is why I bid on this DP).

This is a BIG drill press, I expect it to be MT3, and comes on a stand
to add even more height to it.

The motor is probably 1-1.5 HP 3 phase.

It looks like wartime vintage to me.

Price is _extremely_ advantageous, especially if you can meet with me
at the factory where it is, but cannot be disclosed here.

That's one heck of a tapping head on that thing.

BTW, if you ever find a small sensitive drill press to sell, let me know.

I will let you know.

A similar press is shown on owwm.com, see

http://www.owwm.com/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=3222

It may be a 2 HP drill press.

I also want to say that there are special "sensitive chucks" being
sold, such as the one made by Albrecht. They are meant to hold tiny
drill bits, you put them in a regular drill press (could be a big
one), and you giude the drill by pulling down on a little circle by
hand.

Look at, e.g., http://tinyurl.com/yaq92me (I do not think that it is a
good deal, just showing an example).

I have one and used it when I needed to make super tiny holes. I do
think that it is better than any special DP.

And then with such a chuck, you can buy my Canedy Otto DP and use it
to drill tiny holes!

I've got two of those; parts of the first one did not survive a move in X.
They work great but most mills or large drill presses lack the spindle speed
that small bits like.

A sensitive drill press is one of those things I've wanted for a while, not
from need but more from "just because".

I took off the tapping head and abandoned the DP at the auction site.

How much are you expecting to pay?

Ive got a pair of very small Deltas...but they are 208, 3ph. About 18"
tall and very very high speed. Ill take some pictures

Id let them go very reasonably, one or the pair
