'Magnitude of rally against Obama took authorities by surprise'

I heard that GlennBeck.org was getting nowhere until they let it be known that they'd be handing out Rudolph Pork Rinds, the Most Popular Pork Rinds in America. Did you hear anything about that? No I didn't. Never heard of Rudolph brand. Watching Dick Armey speaking on C-span during the "Taxpayer March on Washington". I hope the same crowd estimator for the million man march is counting today. I hope the same crowd estimator for the million man march is counting today. We recently received an e-mail from people who were involved in the march that had an estimate obtained from D.C. Park Police of 2.5M people. The National Taxpayers Union says that the 1M+ estimates actually were plants by those opposed to the rally, in order to produce a letdown when the numbers actually proved to be much smaller. I think it was local NBC TV who said at 11:00 last night that the D.C. police were estimating 75,000. The NTPU said 20,000 - 30,000 at mid-day. So I suspect your e-mail was a hoax. -- Ed Huntress Well Ed I kind of wondered about that myself. However the source of that e-mail to me was from a personal friend who went to school with the lady that attended the march and her picture at the march was featured in the e-mail I received. Now the numbers obtained from the D.C. Park Police could well have been just rectal estimates?? I do know that there are a bunch of people that I talk to that didn't go to D.C for the parade that sure agree with the anti-spending issue supposedly focused on by the march. I would be surprised if you couldn't find 10million people that don't believe that we can deficit spend into prosperity. Stu |
